On the AGA TOUR, a Senior is
defined to be any player who is 50 or over at any time during
the tournament season. Seniors have the option to play in the
flight determined by their index with the yardages specified by
the flight, or they may play in the Net Flight which is a
handicapped flight and plays yardages of 6300 or less.
When registering for an event,
a Senior will need to specify if the Net Flight is where they
would like to compete. All points accumulated while playing in
the Net Flight will remain in the Net Flight and will not move
to the index-determined Flight if the player decides to play in
both flights during the season. This is to prevent players from
trying to accumulate points in the Net Flight to take back with
them to their index-determined Flight.
If a Senior wins two events in
the Net Flight, or wins a Net Flight by 5 strokes or more, there
will not be a force move as is the case in Flights 1-5. However,
the Senior will be capped at the next lower index-determined
flight's highest index. For example, if a Senior has a 9.5 index
and wins two events in the Net Flight, he may play in the Net
Flight in his next event, but his index will be set to a 6.9 for
handicapping purposes. (6.9 is the highest index in Flight 2,
and the player's 9.5 index put him in Flight 3.)
